Why needle felting?

What is needle felting?
Needle felting is a craft that uses a specially designed barbed needle to shape soft wool fibres into beautiful 2D or 3D creations. It's creative, mindful and incredibly satisfying to learn.
Do I need any experience and can I attend on my own?
No experience is necessary! Thanks to my experience as a qualified Art & Design teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience, my workshops are carefully designed to support complete beginners while also providing fresh inspiration, new techniques and opportunities for more experienced felters to expand their skills. With friendly, step-by-step guidance and individual support throughout, everyone can work at their own pace and leave with a unique piece they're proud of.Many people attend the workshops on their own, they are designed to be friendly, suportive and relaxing.
What is included in the workshop?
All materials, equipment and refreshments are provided, including premium wool fibres, felting needles, foam mats and any accessories needed for your chosen project. You'll also enjoy expert tuition in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Some workshops require an additonal cost for a frame, but you would be informed beforehand if this was the case.

Once you've completed four workshops, you'll receive your fifth workshop absolutely free!Whether you're just beginning your needle felting journey or returning to learn new techniques and build on your skills, there's always something new to discover. How long do workshops last?
Most workshops last between 2 and 3 hours, depending on the project. The duration is listed on each individual workshop page.
What will I make?
Each workshop is a stand alone workshop which focuses on a different theme, such as animals, flowers, seasonal decorations or home décor. I can also provide bespoke workshops, based on what you like. Whatever you create, you'll leave with a unique handmade piece to be proud of. You present the final piece in a frame, so you leave with a finished piece of artwork.
Is there an age limit?
Most workshops are suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over. Younger children (aged 6+) may attend selected workshops with close adult supervision due to the use of sharp felting needles. Please check individual workshop details for age guidance.Please contact me for details, lots of people come with your children and I offer a discount for children (under the age of 18).
Can I book as a group?
Absolutely! Friends, families, clubs and community groups are all welcome. We also offer private bookings, celebrations and bespoke workshops for special occasions. Please contact me for more details so we can discuss your requirments.
Where are your workshops held?
Workshops take place in my cosy home studio in Marlow, as well as at selected venues across the country. I also travel to businesses, schools and community groups for private workshops, these can be in London, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. Travel over 10 miles is an additonal cost as I charge for mileage.
How do I book?

Who are these workshops suitable for?
These workshops are perfect for adults looking for a fun, creative experience. They're ideal for hen parties, birthdays, family celebrations, baby showers, team-building events or simply a get-together with friends.
Do I need any previous needle felting experience?
Not at all! My workshops are suitable for complete beginners as well as those with experience. I'll guide you through each step, so everyone can enjoy creating their own unique piece.
How many people can attend?
The minimum booking is 4 people, with a maximum of 10 people. If it is more than this, please let me know.
Can we choose our own theme?
Yes! You can choose from a selection of popular themes such as Highland Cows, Seascapes, Robins, Landscapes, Mushrooms and Pumpkins, or I can create a bespoke workshop based on your own ideas.
What's included in the price?
Your workshop includes:
All materials and specialist equipment
Expert tuition throughout the session
An embroidery hoop or an 18cm x 18cm box frame (depending on your chosen project)
A finished piece of artwork to take home
Travel within a 10-mile radius
How much does it cost?
The workshop costs £185 for up to 4 people.
Additional guests are £40 per person, up to a maximum of 10 participants.
How long does the workshop last?
Most themed workshops last around 2½ to 3 hours, depending on the design you've chosen and the size of your group.
Where do the workshops take place?
I bring everything to you! Workshops can be held in your home, a hired venue or another suitable location with enough table space for everyone to work comfortably. If it is at a hired venue which I organise, an additonal charge of £50 is applied
Do I need to provide anything?
Just a table, chairs and enough space for everyone to work. I'll bring all the materials, tools and equipment needed for the workshop.
Is travel included?
Yes. Travel within a 10-mile radius is included in the price. For locations further away, an additional mileage charge may apply.
Can I book a workshop as a gift?
Absolutely! A themed needle felting workshop makes a wonderful gift for birthdays, hen parties, anniversaries and other special occasions.
What will we make?
Everyone will create their own beautiful needle-felted artwork based on your chosen theme, leaving with a finished piece ready to display at home.
Is needle felting safe?
Yes. Needle felting uses a specialist barbed needle, and I'll explain how to use it safely before we begin. The workshop is relaxed and suitable for beginners, with guidance throughout.
