FELT MAKER & TEXTILE ARTIST
MEET REBECCA
I was a secondary school Art and Design teacher for 13 years, having taught a wide range of different Fine Art, Textiles and Photography techniques. My artistic journey has led me to inspire students in both the UK and the USA, working in America for a year and organising international trips with my students.
My degree was in Fine Art Sculpture at the University of Gloucestershire, where I explored installation Art and Art therapy, during my degree I exhibited work at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol and The Royal Society of British Sculptors in London.
In 2020, I took a step back from full-time teaching to focus on home-educating my children and nurturing my growing art and craft business. Inspired by the love and encouragement of my late mother and aunt, who motivated me to follow my dreams, here I am 25 years later, following that advice.
I now run a series of workshops that celebrate the joy of making. These take place in my home studio in Marlow, as well as at venues around the country where I appear as a guest tutor and speaker. I invite you to join me as we delve into the fascinating world of textiles.
I have to warn you, needle felting is addictive!!
